Should you build Calcharo?

Calcharo is an Electro main damage dealer with one resource loop before Liberation and another inside it. Three Extermination Order hits create three Cruelty for Mercy. Phantom Etching then enters Deathblade Gear, where five Hounds Roar hits create five Killing Intent for the Liberation-classified Death Messenger.

What to know before spending pulls

Calcharo is a standard character and the current build does not list a character-specific featured weapon. His full Cruelty, Mercy, Deathblade Gear, and Death Messenger loop works at S0. Pair him with an Electro and Liberation support such as Yinlin before spending resources on a weapon that only changes his stats.

Do you need the signature weapon?

Calcharo has no dedicated featured weapon in the current recommendations. Verdant Summit is listed first and has 588 ATK with 48.6% Crit DMG, but its passive mainly improves Heavy Attack damage after Intro or Liberation. That benefits Mercy, while Death Messenger is classified as Liberation damage. Lustrous Razor is a standard alternative with 588 ATK, 36.5% ATK, and 12.8% Energy Regen. Its Skill casts build up to 21% Liberation DMG Bonus, matching Death Messenger more directly. Choose between Crit DMG and Mercy damage from Verdant Summit or Energy Regen and Liberation support from Lustrous Razor; no controlled comparison is published here.

Another character copy or the weapon?

S1 means Calcharo's first Resonance Chain upgrade. Extermination Order restores 10 extra Resonance Energy on hit once every 20 seconds. This is a resource upgrade rather than a new combo. Lustrous Razor also improves Liberation consistency through 12.8% Energy Regen and adds Liberation damage after Skills. S1 helps fund Phantom Etching through the Skill already used for Cruelty, while the weapon supplies broader stats. His core rotation works without either.

Advice for your account

Account using Lustrous Razor

Complete all three Extermination Order presses before Liberation. This builds the weapon's three Liberation damage stacks and prepares Mercy while helping fund Phantom Etching.

Account using the 4-star Autumntrace

Normal and Heavy Attack damage build up to five 4% ATK stacks. Calcharo can maintain them through the pre-Liberation string and Hounds Roar, though the passive does not specifically amplify Death Messenger.

Team with Yinlin

Use Yinlin's Outro directly into Calcharo after converting Punishment Marks. Its Electro and Liberation amplification applies to Phantom Etching and Death Messenger while his hits trigger Judgment Strikes.

Rotation and troubleshooting

Easy rotation

Before Liberation, cast all three stages of Extermination Order, making sure each hits to gain three Cruelty. Hold Normal Attack for Mercy, which consumes the Cruelty, restores Resonance and Concerto Energy, and grants 10% Liberation DMG Bonus for 15 seconds. Cast Phantom Etching to enter Deathblade Gear. Complete the five-stage Hounds Roar string to build five Killing Intent, then use the replaced Basic Attack for Death Messenger. Continue Hounds Roar and use another Death Messenger if enough of the transformed window remains, then leave through Outro after building Concerto Energy.

Opening vs. repeat cycles

Intro deals damage but does not directly grant Cruelty. Every Cruelty point requires an Extermination Order hit, and the three-part Skill enters cooldown if its follow-up is delayed or Calcharo switches out. Deathblade Gear replaces Cruelty with Killing Intent, so finish Mercy before Liberation rather than trying to build both resources at once.

Why this skill priority

Forte Circuit and Liberation lead because they contain Cruelty, Mercy, Killing Intent, Death Messenger, and Deathblade Gear. Resonance Skill follows because its three hits are the only listed Cruelty source and also support Liberation energy and weapon effects.

Required buffs and assumptions

The sequence assumes all three Skill stages and all five Hounds Roar stages connect. Death Messenger restores energy and Concerto but consumes all Killing Intent. The exact number of Death Messengers possible in one Deathblade Gear window changes with enemy movement, dodges, and interrupted attack strings.

Energy Regen target

No minimum Energy Regen target is listed in the current build data. Mercy and Death Messenger both restore Resonance Energy, so completing the resource spends supports the next Phantom Etching. Lustrous Razor also supplies 12.8% Energy Regen.

Troubleshooting

Mercy does not replace the Heavy Attack

Likely cause: Calcharo has fewer than three Cruelty.

Check: Confirm all three Extermination Order stages hit before the Skill entered cooldown.

Fix: Complete the three Skill presses without switching or delaying the follow-up, then hold Normal Attack.

Death Messenger does not replace the Basic Attack

Likely cause: Killing Intent has not reached five during Deathblade Gear.

Check: Count successful Hounds Roar stages rather than ordinary pre-Liberation attacks.

Fix: Complete the transformed five-stage Basic Attack string, then press Basic Attack again at the full gauge.

The Extermination Order chain suddenly enters cooldown

Likely cause: The next Skill stage was delayed too long or Calcharo switched off-field.

Check: Review whether another action or character switch occurred between the three Skill presses.

Fix: Treat the three stages as one uninterrupted setup sequence before Mercy.

How to Play
