Should you build Carlotta?
Carlotta is a Glacio main damage dealer whose strongest attacks count as Resonance Skill damage. She consumes Moldable Crystals to fill Substance, spends a full Substance gauge on Imminent Oblivion when Tinted Crystal is ready, then enters Twilight Tango for four Death Knells and Fatal Finale.
What to know before spending pulls
Her base kit contains the full setup and Liberation sequence. The important requirement is entering Twilight Tango with 120 Substance so Final Bow adds 80% to the Liberation, Death Knell, and Fatal Finale multipliers. A Glacio or Resonance Skill support such as Zhezhi affects this full window more consistently than an early copy changes its input order.
Do you need the signature weapon?
The Last Dance is Carlotta's featured weapon. At level 90 it has 500 ATK and 72% Crit DMG. It grants 12% ATK, and Intro or Liberation grants 48% Resonance Skill DMG Bonus for 5 seconds. Static Mist is the standard alternative with 588 ATK and 24.3% Crit Rate. It adds 12.8% Energy Regen and gives the incoming character 10% ATK after Outro. The Last Dance matches Carlotta's Skill-classified finishers and activates from actions already used in her burst; Static Mist makes Crit Rate and Liberation energy easier to cover but directs part of its passive to the next teammate.
Another character copy or the weapon?
S1 means Carlotta's first Resonance Chain upgrade. Damage against a target with Deconstruction gains 12.5% Crit Rate for that hit, and Chromatic Splendor restores 30 extra Substance when it hits a target with Dispersion. The Last Dance instead provides Crit DMG and a short 48% Resonance Skill bonus after Intro or Liberation. S1 shortens Substance setup and improves conditional Crit Rate; the weapon strengthens the burst window directly. Her full Final Bow and Twilight Tango loop works at S0.
Advice for your account
Its Crit Rate and Energy Regen simplify the build while Carlotta learns the Substance route. The Outro ATK effect benefits the next teammate, so it is less focused on Carlotta's own burst than The Last Dance.
Basic and Heavy Attack hits build up to three 7% Resonance Skill DMG Bonus stacks. Use the setup attacks before Imminent Oblivion and Twilight Tango so its passive supports the final Skill-classified attacks.
Use Zhezhi's Outro before Carlotta's field window so its Glacio and Resonance Skill amplification covers Imminent Oblivion and the Twilight Tango attacks.

Rotation and troubleshooting
Easy rotation
Before the main window, cast Art of Violence and its second press, Chromatic Splendor, then switch out. Consuming the three Moldable Crystals from the first Skill builds 30 Substance. Re-enter through Intro for another 30 Substance and three Crystals. Use Heavy Attack to reach six Crystals, then perform all three Necessary Measures attacks to consume three and gain 30 Substance. Cast Art of Violence to refill to six Crystals, then Chromatic Splendor to consume them and reach 120 Substance. If Tinted Crystal is ready, hold Normal Attack for Imminent Oblivion. Cast Liberation, fire four Death Knells with Normal Attack or Liberation, then use the same input once more for Fatal Finale. After Twilight Tango ends, cast both Skill presses again before leaving.
Opening vs. repeat cycles
The prepared opener starts with the first Art of Violence and Chromatic Splendor before teammates take their turns, preserving 30 Substance for Carlotta's Intro window. Tinted Crystal activates once every 22 seconds. If it is unavailable at full Substance, the Heavy Attack becomes Containment Tactics instead of Imminent Oblivion, though both spend Substance and reduce Art of Violence's cooldown by 6 seconds.
Why this skill priority
Resonance Skill, Liberation, Forte Circuit, and Basic Attack are all listed first because the resource loop crosses all four. Necessary Measures and Chromatic Splendor consume Crystals for Substance, the Forte turns full Substance into Imminent Oblivion and Final Bow, and Liberation converts that setup into four Death Knells and Fatal Finale.
Required buffs and assumptions
The full burst assumes Intro is available, the pre-cast Skill sequence left 30 Substance, and Tinted Crystal is ready before the held Heavy Attack. Substance and Moldable Crystals cannot be gained during Twilight Tango, and entering or ending that state removes all Substance, so finish the setup before Liberation.
Energy Regen target
No minimum Energy Regen target is listed in the current build data. Liberation is the only way to enter Twilight Tango, so missing it delays the four Death Knells and Fatal Finale even if Substance is full. Static Mist supplies 12.8% Energy Regen when the team cannot fund each burst.
Troubleshooting
The held Heavy Attack casts Containment Tactics instead of Imminent Oblivion
Likely cause: Substance is full, but Tinted Crystal is still on its 22-second cooldown.
Check: Check the Tinted Crystal indicator before holding Normal Attack at 120 Substance.
Fix: Delay the held Heavy Attack until Tinted Crystal is active when the stronger Imminent Oblivion setup is required.
Liberation enters Twilight Tango without Final Bow's multiplier increase
Likely cause: Carlotta cast Liberation before Substance reached 120.
Check: Confirm the Substance gauge is full and Final Bow is active before Era of New Wave.
Fix: Consume Moldable Crystals through Necessary Measures and Chromatic Splendor until Substance is full, then use the held Heavy Attack and Liberation.
Fatal Finale does not activate after several Liberation shots
Likely cause: Carlotta has fewer than four Meta Vectors.
Check: Each successful Death Knell grants one Meta Vector, and Fatal Finale requires four.
Fix: Use Normal Attack or Liberation four times during Twilight Tango for four Death Knells, then press either input once more.
