Should you build Jianxin?

Jianxin is an Aero support who combines enemy grouping, a transferable shield and healing, and a 38% Resonance Liberation damage amplification on Outro. Basic Attacks, her Skill, its parry follow-up, and Intro build Chi. At 120 Chi, holding Normal Attack starts Primordial Chi Spiral and turns that resource into progressively stronger shield stages.

What to know before spending pulls

Jianxin's full support kit works at S0. She already has the parry, grouping Liberation, shield, healing, and Liberation amplification needed for her role. Build enough Chi and Concerto to complete the handoff before considering an extra copy, because S1 mainly accelerates Chi generation after Intro rather than adding a new team effect.

Do you need the signature weapon?

Jianxin has no dedicated featured weapon in the current recommendations. Verity's Handle is listed first with 588 ATK and 24.3% Crit Rate. It grants 12% Attribute DMG Bonus and a large personal Liberation damage bonus after she casts Liberation. Marcato is the more support-focused accessible option with 338 ATK and 51.8% Energy Regen; casting Skill also restores 8 Concerto Energy once every 20 seconds. Choose Verity's Handle for Jianxin's own damage or Marcato for faster Liberation and Outro access. No controlled comparison is published here.

Another character copy or the weapon?

S1 means Jianxin's first Resonance Chain upgrade. For 10 seconds after Intro, her Basic Attacks grant twice as much Chi. Marcato instead adds Energy Regen and 8 Concerto Energy after Skill once every 20 seconds. S1 shortens the path to a full Primordial Chi Spiral, while Marcato helps cast Purification Force Field and reach the Outro handoff. Her shield, healing, grouping, and 38% Liberation amplification are already complete at S0 with another weapon.

Advice for your account

Support build using Marcato

Cast Calming Air during the setup to trigger Marcato's 8 Concerto Energy. Its 51.8% Energy Regen also helps make Purification Force Field available before Jianxin hands the field to the main damage dealer.

Team with Xiangli Yao

Finish Jianxin's field time with full Concerto and switch directly to Xiangli Yao. Her Outro amplifies the incoming character's Resonance Liberation damage by 38% for 14 seconds or until that character leaves the field.

A wave with scattered enemies

Use Purification Force Field before the handoff to pull nearby targets toward its center. This makes the next character's area attacks easier to connect, but the pull should not be described as reliable control against every large or resistant enemy.

Rotation and troubleshooting

Easy rotation

Enter through Essence of Tao to deal damage, pull nearby targets, and gain Chi. Cast Calming Air; hold it when an incoming hit can trigger Chi Counter, or release it for Chi Parry when no safe counter is available. Use Basic Attacks until Chi reaches 120. Hold Normal Attack to start Primordial Chi Spiral and keep holding while Zhoutian Progress consumes Chi. Reaching later stages gives the stronger shield, and the active character is healed once every 6 seconds while that shield remains. Cast Purification Force Field to group the wave, finish building Concerto, then switch directly to the Liberation damage dealer so Transcendence applies to them.

Opening vs. repeat cycles

Intro gives Chi immediately, so the opening after a teammate's Outro reaches Primordial Chi Spiral faster than a repeat entry without Intro. Basic Attacks, Calming Air, Chi Counter or Chi Parry, and Intro are all valid Chi sources. Releasing the held Forte early ends Zhoutian Progress and removes all remaining Chi, so choose a shorter shield deliberately when the team cannot afford the full channel.

Why this skill priority

Forte Circuit and Liberation are listed first because they hold Jianxin's transferable shield, periodic healing, and grouping field. Basic Attack and Skill follow because they generate Chi and occupy most of her setup. Intro is listed third even though it is useful for a quick pull and starting Chi.

Required buffs and assumptions

The full sequence assumes Jianxin can safely channel Primordial Chi Spiral long enough to reach the intended Zhoutian stage. She takes 50% less damage and gains interruption resistance during the channel, but this is not immunity. Her Outro only benefits the single incoming character and ends early if that character switches out.

Energy Regen target

No minimum Energy Regen target is listed in the current build data. Purification Force Field costs Resonance Energy and supports both grouping and Jianxin's field contribution, so add Energy Regen when it is not ready each cycle. Marcato supplies 51.8% Energy Regen and Concerto rather than a direct team damage passive.

Troubleshooting

The shield is much smaller than expected

Likely cause: Primordial Chi Spiral ended before reaching a later Zhoutian Progress stage.

Check: Watch whether the channel reached Minor Zhoutian or either Major Zhoutian stage before the button was released.

Fix: Start the channel in a safer window and keep holding until the desired stage or until all Chi is consumed.

Calming Air does not perform Chi Counter

Likely cause: No enemy attack connected with Jianxin during Parry Stance.

Check: Confirm Jianxin was struck while the Skill was still being held rather than after it was released.

Fix: Hold the Skill into a predictable hit for Chi Counter, or release it intentionally to use Chi Parry.

The next character does not keep the Liberation damage amplification

Likely cause: Jianxin switched without full Concerto or the receiving character left the field.

Check: Confirm Outro triggered and the intended Liberation damage dealer was the character who entered directly after Jianxin.

Fix: Fill Concerto before switching, enter the intended damage dealer directly, and keep that character active through the amplified Liberation window.

How to Play

Normal Attack, Resonance Skill and Intro Skill recover Forte Gauge on hit. Hold Basic Attack to start charging and gain shield continuously when Forte Gauge is full. Source: Wuthering Waves Fandom wiki (https://wutheringwaves.fandom.com/wiki/Jianxin/Combat), community content under CC BY-SA.
