Should you build Rover (Electro)?

Electro Rover is a flexible sub damage dealer who can choose between a quick team ATK buff and a longer personal damage mode. Their Outro rewards an incoming teammate who applies a Negative Status, making them most useful in a status team rather than as a universal support.

What to know before spending pulls

Rover does not require a character-banner pull. Start with a sword you already own and decide whether the team needs the quick Overshock press for 10% ATK or the held version that spends 60 Concerto Energy for Apex Resonance. The held route keeps Rover on the field longer and delays access to Outro, so it should be chosen for a reason rather than used automatically.

Do you need the signature weapon?

The current build lists Blazing Brilliance first, but it is not an Electro Rover-specific featured weapon. At level 90 it has 588 ATK and 48.6% Crit DMG; its passive adds 12% ATK and builds Resonance Skill DMG through damage and Resonance Skill casts. Emerald of Genesis is the simpler general option with 588 ATK, 24.3% Crit Rate, 12.8% Energy Regen, and up to 12% ATK after two Resonance Skill casts. Blazing Brilliance fits Apex Resonance's many skill hits, while Emerald of Genesis makes Crit Rate and Liberation energy easier to cover. No controlled comparison is published here.

Another character copy or the weapon?

This is not a normal extra-copy versus featured-weapon decision. Rover's Resonance Chain is progression content, and the current imported character record names the six nodes without supplying their effect text. The guide therefore does not rank a Rover sequence against a weapon or invent missing benefits. Choose a weapon from the effects that are documented, and unlock Rover's sequence nodes through their available progression sources.

Advice for your account

New account using Rover as a quick support

Fill Electric Surge, press Overshock for the 10% team ATK bonus, then build enough Concerto Energy to leave through Outro. This route avoids spending 60 Concerto Energy on Apex Resonance and reaches the incoming character sooner.

Account using Rover for personal damage

Hold Overshock at full Electric Surge to enter Apex Resonance. Blazing Brilliance supports the repeated Resonance Skill hits in this mode, but Rover must spend more field time before the team reaches the next Outro.

Team without a Negative Status applier

Rover's Outro gives Electro Core, but its 25% All DMG Amplification activates only after the incoming character inflicts a Negative Status. If the next character cannot do that, the central support effect remains unused.

Rotation and troubleshooting

Easy rotation

Enter with Intro Skill when available, cast Resonance Skill, and use the follow-up Normal Attack to perform Repel. Continue normal attacks until Electric Surge reaches 120 and Resonance Skill changes to Overshock. Press Overshock to clear Electric Surge and give the team 10% ATK for 20 seconds. Cast Liberation when ready, rebuild Concerto Energy, then use Outro into a teammate who can apply a Negative Status and activate Electro Core's 25% All DMG Amplification.

Opening vs. repeat cycles

Intro contributes Electric Surge, so the first cycle with Intro reaches Overshock sooner than a cycle where Rover enters manually. After using the held Overshock route, repeat timing also depends on recovering the 60 Concerto Energy spent to enter Apex Resonance.

Advanced rotation

For Rover's longer personal-damage route, reach 120 Electric Surge and hold Overshock. This spends 60 Concerto Energy and enters Apex Resonance with full Thunder Rage. Use Thrum of All Sounds while Thunder Rage remains, then rebuild the Concerto Energy spent on entry before attempting Outro. Ground taps run through seven attacks; the aerial route includes healing on its later Aero attacks. Pick one route deliberately instead of mixing inputs mid-string.

Why this skill priority

Forte Circuit and Resonance Skill lead because Electric Surge, Overshock, Apex Resonance, and every Thrum of All Sounds attack sit in those parts of the kit. Liberation is also listed first in the current priority data, while Basic Attack and Intro follow after the core skill package.

Required buffs and assumptions

The quick route assumes the team benefits from Rover's 10% ATK buff. The Outro route assumes the incoming character can inflict a Negative Status within Electro Core's 20-second duration. Apex Resonance is optional and consumes 60 Concerto Energy, so it directly competes with reaching Outro quickly.

Troubleshooting

Overshock does not replace Resonance Skill

Likely cause: Electric Surge has not reached its 120-point maximum.

Check: Check the Electric Surge gauge. Intro, normal attacks, Thunderclap, and Basic Attack - Repel restore it when they deal damage.

Fix: Land Thunderclap and its Repel follow-up, then continue the normal string until the gauge is full.

Rover enters Apex Resonance but cannot Outro on schedule

Likely cause: Holding Overshock consumed 60 Concerto Energy.

Check: Compare the Concerto gauge before and after the held Overshock input.

Fix: Use the pressed Overshock route when the team needs a fast Outro. Use the held route only when Rover has time to rebuild the spent Concerto Energy.

Electro Core never grants its 25% damage amplification

Likely cause: The incoming Resonator did not inflict a Negative Status before Electro Core expired.

Check: Confirm that Rover used Outro, then verify the incoming character's action explicitly applies a Negative Status.

Fix: Outro into a status applier and use the status-inflicting action within 20 seconds. Direct elemental damage alone does not satisfy the stated trigger.
