Should you build Zani?

Zani is a Spectro Heavy Attack damage dealer for Spectro Frazzle teams. Teammate Frazzle stacks are immediately triggered and converted into Heliacal Ember, which supplies Blaze for Zani's Inferno Mode Heavy Slashes and strengthens her Outro hit.

What to know before spending pulls

Her full Frazzle conversion and Inferno cycle work at S0, but she needs a teammate who applies Spectro Frazzle reliably. Each converted stack grants five Blaze and lasts as Heliacal Ember for six seconds. Without that team setup, Zani enters Inferno with less Blaze and has a shorter Heavy Slash sequence.

Do you need the signature weapon?

Blazing Justice is Zani's featured weapon. At level 90 it has 588 ATK and 48.6% Crit DMG. Casting Basic Attack grants 8% DEF ignore and 50% Spectro Frazzle DMG Amplification for 6 seconds, and repeated Basic Attacks refresh the duration. Abyss Surges is the standard-pool option in her current list, with 588 ATK and 36.45% ATK. It adds 12.8% Energy Regen and alternates 10% Basic Attack and Skill damage bonuses when those attack types hit. Blazing Justice matches Zani's Frazzle-classified Heavy Slashes; Abyss Surges is an existing-account option for energy and ATK but does not amplify Frazzle.

Another character copy or the weapon?

S1 means Zani's first Resonance Chain upgrade. Targeted Action or Forcible Riposte grants 50% Spectro DMG Bonus for 14 seconds, and Heavy Slash - Nightfall becomes immune to interruption. Blazing Justice instead gives Crit DMG, Frazzle amplification, and DEF ignore after Basic Attack. S1 protects the long Inferno finisher and rewards the pre-Liberation counter; the weapon strengthens the full Frazzle cycle at S0.

Advice for your account

Team with Phoebe or Spectro Rover

Let the teammate apply Spectro Frazzle before Zani's Inferno window. Zani automatically triggers the Frazzle damage, converts the stacks into Heliacal Ember, and gains five Blaze per stack.

Team with Ciaccona

Choose Ciaccona's yellow Tonic so her off-field Recital applies Spectro Frazzle. Green Tonic applies Aero Erosion and will not feed Zani's conversion.

Account using Abyss Surges

Use Standard Defense Protocol and normal attacks to maintain its two small damage bonuses. Its Energy Regen helps Rekindle uptime, but it lacks Blazing Justice's Frazzle amplification.

Rotation and troubleshooting

Easy rotation

Have a teammate apply Spectro Frazzle so Zani converts it into Heliacal Ember and Blaze. Enter through Intro, then use Normal Attacks and Standard Defense Protocol until Redundant Energy reaches 100. Hold Resonance Skill for Crisis Response Protocol and release for Targeted Action, or counter an incoming hit with Forcible Riposte. This spends Redundant Energy, starts Sunburst, adds Heliacal Ember, and grants more Blaze. Cast Rekindle to enter Inferno Mode, raise the Blaze cap to 150, and gain 50 Blaze. While Blaze is at least 30, hold Skill or Normal Attack for Scorching Light and continue through Daybreak, Dawning, and Nightfall. When Blaze falls below 30 or Inferno reaches eight seconds, cast The Last Stand to end the mode. Use Outro before existing Heliacal Ember expires if its Frazzle hit is part of the plan.

Opening vs. repeat cycles

A prepared opener uses teammate Frazzle conversions before Rekindle, then adds the Liberation's 50 Blaze for a longer Inferno sequence. Without external Frazzle, Zani relies on Targeted Action or Forcible Riposte and Rekindle for Blaze. Redundant Energy cannot be gained during Inferno, so complete Crisis Response Protocol before transforming.

Why this skill priority

Forte Circuit and Liberation lead because Heliacal Ember conversion, both meters, Inferno Mode, every Heavy Slash, Rekindle, and The Last Stand form the complete damage cycle. Resonance Skill builds and spends Redundant Energy before becoming Scorching Light in Inferno. Basic Attack helps fill Redundant Energy and routes into the Inferno Heavy Slashes.

Required buffs and assumptions

The full sequence assumes a teammate has recently applied Spectro Frazzle and Zani reaches 100 Redundant Energy before Rekindle. Heliacal Ember lasts six seconds per stack, so delayed field time can reduce Outro damage and remove the marked-target Spectro amplification before the handoff.

Energy Regen target

No minimum Energy Regen target is listed in the current build data. Rekindle is required to enter Inferno and adds 50 Blaze, so Energy Regen can still affect repeat consistency. Abyss Surges is the listed option that directly supplies 12.8% Energy Regen.

Troubleshooting

Crisis Response Protocol does not replace Standard Defense Protocol

Likely cause: Redundant Energy has not reached 100 or Zani is already in Inferno Mode.

Check: Normal Attacks, Intro, Standard Defense Protocol, and Pinpoint Strike build Redundant Energy only outside Inferno.

Fix: Fill the meter before Rekindle, then hold Resonance Skill for the enhanced stance.

Zani enters Inferno with too little Blaze for a full Heavy Slash sequence

Likely cause: The team did not apply enough Spectro Frazzle for Heliacal Ember conversion before Rekindle.

Check: Each converted Frazzle stack grants five Blaze, while Rekindle itself grants 50.

Fix: Move the Frazzle applier directly before Zani and confirm the conversion occurs before starting Inferno.

The Last Stand is unavailable immediately after Rekindle

Likely cause: Its unlock condition has not been met.

Check: The Last Stand becomes available when Blaze is below 30 or after eight seconds in Inferno Mode.

Fix: Spend Blaze through the Heavy Slash chain, or continue the Inferno sequence until the eight-second condition is reached.

How to Play

Hitting a target recovers Forte Gauge. Consume Forte Gauge to cast enhanced Resonance Skill. Zani restores Forte Gauge when other Resonators in the team inflict Spectro Frazzle. Zani enters an enhanced state upon casting Resonance Liberation. In the enhanced state, consume Forte Gauge to cast enhanced Basic Attacks.
