Should you build Hiyuki?
Hiyuki is a Glacio Liberation damage dealer for Glacio Chafe teams. Her loop builds Dedication in Present Self, enters Foreclaimed Self, converts three Iai attacks into a Snowforged Blade, and spends stored Blades to strengthen Blade Liberation.
What to know before spending pulls
Her base kit contains the full transformation and charged Liberation loop. Team composition matters because each teammate who applies Glacio Chafe or Havoc Bane can grant one Snow Rust stack, unlocking Hiyuki's Crit DMG and Glacio Bite bonuses. Build a team that reaches at least two Snow Rust stacks before spending on an extra copy or weapon.
Do you need the signature weapon?
Frostburn is Hiyuki's featured weapon. At level 90 it has 588 ATK and 24.3% Crit Rate. Applying Glacio Chafe grants 28% Glacio DMG Amplification, lets Liberation damage ignore 10% DEF, and amplifies nearby Glacio Chafe damage by 20% while Hiyuki is active. Feather Edge is the listed 4-star option with 413 ATK and 20.3% Crit Rate; after Liberation it gives 7.2% ATK and 10.8% Liberation DMG Bonus for 15 seconds. Frostburn has the stronger Glacio Chafe package, while Feather Edge activates from the Liberation casts already used in every Hiyuki cycle.
Another character copy or the weapon?
S1 means Hiyuki's first Resonance Chain upgrade. It raises her Foreclaimed Self attack multipliers by 120%, expands the pull on Basic Attack Stage 3, protects Stages 4 and 5 from interruption, and makes the first two Foreclaimed attacks apply Glacio Chafe after Inward Vision. Frostburn instead supplies Crit Rate and mode-matched Glacio and Liberation bonuses. S1 changes the safety and output of the transformed attack string; the weapon strengthens the whole Chafe and Liberation package. Her core Blade Liberation loop works without either.
Advice for your account
Use it while learning the resource loop. Its Crit Rate and post-Liberation bonuses apply to Hiyuki's main damage type, and no separate teammate trigger is required.
Lucilla supplies another Glacio Chafe source and can amplify Chafe damage in her matching mode. This helps Hiyuki gain Snow Rust while supporting the Glacio Bite mechanic that replaces normal Glacio Chafe on Hiyuki's team.
S1 directly protects Foreclaimed Stages 4 and 5 from interruption. Frostburn adds damage but does not provide that protection, so S1 addresses this specific execution problem more directly.

Rotation and troubleshooting
Easy rotation
Enter with Intro Skill to gain 200 Dedication, then cast Resonance Skill and follow it with Present Self Basic Attack Stage 3. The enhanced Stage 3 supplies the remaining Dedication. Hold Normal Attack for Frost Splinter, then cast Inward Vision to enter Foreclaimed Self with 50 Frostheart and three Frostharden Iai points. Use Foreclaimed attacks and Resonance Skill to reach at least 100 Frostheart, tap Dodge after an allowed action to enter Iai Stance, then tap Normal Attack for Iai. Repeat until three Iai attacks create three Whiteout Bitterfrost stacks. Hold Normal Attack for Bitterfrost to convert them into one Snowforged Blade, then hold Liberation and spend the Blade on Blade Liberation.
Opening vs. repeat cycles
Out of combat, Hiyuki restores one Snowforged Blade if she has none, and unspent Blades remain stored. An opener can therefore begin with one stored Blade before she creates another through Iai attacks. Later cycles depend on how many Blades were spent on the previous Blade Liberation, so check the resource before deciding how long to charge.
Why this skill priority
Resonance Liberation is first because both Inward Vision and Blade Liberation define the transformation and final payoff. Forte Circuit follows because it contains Dedication, Frostheart, Iai Stance, Glacio Bite, and every resource conversion used between those Liberation casts. Basic Attack is also important because most transformed attacks are classified as Liberation damage but live in the Basic Attack skill tree.
Required buffs and assumptions
The fast opener assumes Intro is available. Without Intro, Present Self Stage 3 supplies 100 Dedication, or 200 after Resonance Skill enhances it, so more attacks are needed to reach 300. Iai also requires at least 100 Frostheart and must follow one of the actions explicitly listed in the Forte description.
Energy Regen target
The build data recommends at least 115% Energy Regen. Inward Vision consumes no Resonance Energy, but Blade Liberation is the energy-dependent payoff that ends Foreclaimed Self, so missing energy delays the end of the transformed window.
Troubleshooting
Frost Splinter or Inward Vision is unavailable
Likely cause: Dedication has not reached 300, or Frost Splinter has not been completed yet.
Check: Check Dedication before holding Normal Attack. Intro gives 200, and the Stage 3 enhanced by Resonance Skill gives 200.
Fix: Use Intro plus the enhanced Stage 3 for a fast fill, cast Frost Splinter, then use Inward Vision.
Tapping Dodge does not enter Iai Stance
Likely cause: Hiyuki has less than 100 Frostheart or the Dodge did not follow an allowed Foreclaimed action.
Check: Confirm the Frostheart gauge is at least 100 and use Dodge immediately after a Foreclaimed normal attack, Jade Cleave, Petalfall, Iai, or Intro as described by the Forte.
Fix: Land more Foreclaimed attacks or Resonance Skill to restore Frostheart, then use the listed action-to-Dodge link.
Blade Liberation receives no Snowforged Blade increase
Likely cause: Hiyuki did not complete three Iai attacks and Bitterfrost before Liberation, or released an uncharged cast without three stored Blades.
Check: Track three Whiteout Bitterfrost stacks, convert them with Heavy Attack - Bitterfrost, and confirm at least one Snowforged Blade is stored.
Fix: Finish the Iai-to-Bitterfrost conversion, then hold Liberation long enough to consume the intended number of stored Blades.

How to Play
While in Present Self, casting Basic Attack - Present Self Stage 3 and Intro Skill restores Forte Gauge Dedication. When Dedication is full, Enhanced Heavy Attack Heavy Attack - Frost Splinter: Present Self and Resonance Liberation Foreclaiming: Inward Vision become available. Casting Foreclaiming: Inward Vision sends Hiyuki into Foreclaimed Self. While in Foreclaimed Self, Hiyuki restores Forte Gauge Frostheart when Normal Attack - Foreclaimed Self hits the target or casting Resonance Skill. With sufficient Frostheart, tap Dodge to enter Iai Stance after Hiyuki performs certain attacks, during which Basic Attack - Iai may be cast by tapping Normal Attack. Every time Basic Attack - Iai is cast, gain a stack of Whiteout Bitterfrost, with 3 stacks of Whiteout Bitterfrost, Hiyuki may cast Heavy Attack - Bitterfrost: Foreclaimed Self, which grants 1 stack of Snowforged Blade. Hiyuki may choose to consume any stack of Snowforged Blade by charging to increase the DMG of Resonance Liberation Foreclaiming: Blade Liberation. Unspent Snowforged Blade points will be reserved.
